Daily
life varies from temple to temple but a typical day is as follows: the
monks get up early, usually before dawn, and start the day with chanting
and meditation. When it gets light they go on their alms rounds, then
come back to the temple for the morning meal. Some temples have only one
meal a day while others have two. During the day the monks study, meditate,
teach, clean or work on the temple and participate in ceremonies. Some
temples have classes for monks. In the early evening there's more meditation
and chanting.
